Falling foliage and bonfires(events)

It is autumn here in the city and our residents are busy getting ready for the fall season. Businesses are changing some of their products and the look of their stores, families are bundling up their young for colder weather and it's time to get ready for the rainy season. We asked one of our beloved local businesses about some of the things they're doing for the fall season.

"When fall comes this place starts to pile up with leaves, dried fruit, dead plants and things like that so we have to sweep and clean our pathways often," says Huntin, a Shining Moon studios employee. He holds a long rake in hand and sweeps at the dried foliage on the ground as he speaks. Known for hosting some of the best events on their lovely historic property, we wanted to know if they have anything planned for this fall. "Well I'm not sure about other things, but in the fall we like to use the dried foliage to build bonfires. It cleans up the property and we have a good time with marshmallows, cookies, hot cocoa and stargazing. This year we'll probably do something like that," says Huntin, a big smile on his face.

We asked if we could join them and Huntin laughs and tells us he will have to ask the director but most likely it's fine. So there you have it, a good way to get rid of unwanted fall foliage is to build a fire(with caution) and toast marshmallows with it. We'll be trying this one out for ourselves.
