Book Review: How to be Charming by Shining Moon

It may seem kinda funny that one of our first book reviews is about our own but it's something we worked hard on and it deserves a good, thoughtful review. From us. :)

This short novel is sort of an experiment we did back in 2016. We didn't know what to write exactly and writing a fantasy novel was daunting enough. This book is really about a fictional/fantasy studio that's able to interview not just real people but characters that one can only dream about. I thought, wow, what if you could actually ask Snow White what it 'twas really like to live with seven dwarves while your evil step mother is after your skin or a dragon what it's like to fly or Rumpelstiltskin if he really likes his name? Almost every chapter contains an interview with one or two fantasy characters. For this book we picked some of the most charming characters(including real people) in history and studied them from this angle. It's like if someone wanted to write a piece on being wealthy, they could include an interview with someone who's really wealthy and that's basically how we approached writing this topic.

It's a short book and wouldn't take long to get through so it's like a cross between a sampler and a novella. I'd say it's both our debut novella and our studio sampler. We do like how it turned out though we will change a few things if we do it again and still recommend it to avid fantasy readers.
