History: underworld

There is not much that is known of the dark underworld. It isn't clear where it even is nor the entrance to the place. Mythology tells us it is a place for the dead with the river Styx flowing and dividing it from the living. Some say it is a dark place with the vilest creatures and once entered, rarely does one leave alive. From the secret writings of past scholars and druids to those who have entered and left alive, we now begin to see a better, clearer picture of just what the dark Underworld is. The Underworld is a thriving place with creatures and beings that adore the night. The Underworld is not to be mistaken with Hades which is the place where the dead belong and are sent but the Underworld includes Hades and hosts the entrance to it. Creatures that dwell in this shadowy realm include beings such as fallen deities, demons, gargoyles, imps, hobs, orcs, vampires, slayers, shapeshifters, ghosts and more. Surprisingly the laws there bind just as much as in the world of light. Underworld creatures are predisposed to dark magic and often have the tendency to use seedier tactics in order to survive or gain.
